AfricaSan Awards
The AMCOW AfricaSan Awards aim to raise the profile of sanitation and hygiene in development agenda. It seeks to promote excellence in leadership and innovation at various levels. The Awards also place a spotlight on bold initiatives and innovations that inspire action in the sanitation and hygiene sector at various levels.
During AfricaSan7, the award event will recognize and honor the outstanding achievements and contributions of sanitation and hygiene champions under various categories. Participants are free to submit their nomination for consideration and further evaluation by the AfricaSan7 Award Committee. Winners will be announced during the AfricaSan7 Gala Dinner. The award will feature five categories as summarized below:

Whether you've spearheaded groundbreaking sanitation initiatives, transformed communities or influenced policies, this award recognises your ability to inspire change and transform lives. You are invited to nominate a leader or make your own application to be counted amongst our exclusive circle of visionaries. We want to celebrate transformative leadership that has propelled the water and sanitation sector to new heights. This category is for up to five leaders.

If you have led long-term sanitation initiatives, pioneered innovative sanitation solutions or provided crucial support, this is your chance to shine. Join the league of extraordinary Service Champions and let your dedication be celebrated across the continent. With five to ten awards up for grabs, equally distributed among the five sub-regions, your chance to be recognised is within reach. Lasting Impact Award
Description
An esteemed honour for partners whose visionary efforts have made significant impact on improving sector governance and strengthening institutions in the sanitation sector. This award celebrates exceptional financial and technical support to the AMCOW work programme, driving sustainable water and sanitation management and contributing to poverty reduction and social development goals in Africa. A limited number of between three and five awards are available. We want to celebrate those who have demonstrated innovative solutions, strategic partnerships, and impactful investments, leaving an indelible mark on the sector. Women and Youth Innovation Award
Description
A unique and famed celebration of outstanding sanitation projects led by women and youths. This award honours initiatives demonstrating innovation, effectiveness and sustainability in improving access to safely managed sanitation services. Successful projects must show evidence of implementation, community engagement and measurable impact on public health and livelihoods. The additional sub-category for youth innovation, encourages creative minds to design the official 7th AfricaSan Conference banner. Join us in celebrating the remarkable contributions of women and youth in the sanitation sector, as they pave the way for a sustainable future for the next generation.

A celebration of stellar performances in sanitation and hygiene at national level. This award recognises Member States that have demonstrated exceptional dedication to meeting the AfricaSan Ngor commitments and achieving national targets. It acknowledges the remarkable progress of countries that have implemented innovative policies and impactful programs, leading to increased access to sanitation and hygiene services. Join us in celebrating the outstanding efforts of these nations as they pave the way towards universal access, inspiring others to follow suit and create a world where sanitation and hygiene are accessible to all.

Participants are invited to submit their nomination for consideration and further evaluation by the AfricaSan7 Award Committee. An awards’ evaluation committee will support with the review of the nominations.
